Design legend Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of Iittala glass birds took flight in 1972. Combining Toikka’s passion for nature and for blown glass art, each bird has its own personality making it a one of a kind art object. Handmade and mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory, the collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions and Toikka’s partnership with his master craftsmen. Birds by Toikka Ruby Bird is the center of attention wherever she lands. Her regal shape is accentuated with a translucent glass in a rich red colour dotted with lustrous spots that pick-up light brilliantly.
