Tim Rawlinson
Tim Rawlinson graduated Ceramics and Glass at Buckinghamshire New University in 2011 then he met Peter Layton and was subsequently invited to London Glassblowing for work experience. He has been an invaluable member of the team, setting up and managing the cold studio. Over the past few years Tim has established himself internationally as a leading glass artist. He supplies a number of major glass galleries in the US with recent showings in Florida and New York City.
His 2018 solo show at London Glassblowing, Kumano Kudo, was a commercial and critical success and his artwork has been shown annually at Collect Art Fair since 2015. He has also been included in Europe’s most prestigious exhibitions: the Coburg Prize for Contemporary Glass in 2014 and the International Glass Prize at the GlazenHuis in 2015.
About The Work
Tim has created his own language with his simple geometric forms, using a combination of blown, cast and polished techniques. His fascination with the relationship between light and glass heavily influences his work, leading him to develop the transparent quality of the medium.
