Look IN sculpture, part of the Brains family.
The face is one of Bertil Vallien’s most recurring motifs—a mirror of the inner self, a window toward the unknown. In Brains Look, it takes shape as a cast glass object, where coloured glass powder is sifted onto the surface and, in the kiln, reduced to a shimmering turquoise hue.
The eyes are covered with silver leaf. An object that carries Vallien’s characteristic
double‑layered quality: simple enough to hang on a wall, yet complex enough to linger in the mind. Brains Look is produced at Kosta Glassworks and is part of the Kosta Boda Artist Collection.
Metal fitting allows this object to be hung on the wall.
